bottled lightning

Again this West Texas sky has amazed me. Last night Kyle and I were at Inkfluence Tattoo here in Lubbock so our good friend Charlie (aka Dirty Charlie) could tattoo Kyle. While we were there, a storm rolled in. This is my first time capturing lightning and WOW, what an experience. You have to be extremely patient. It took me about 20 shots to get the one but, basically you release the shutter (it stays open for about a minute) and then hope that lightning comes during that time, if not... you try it again. There was also some awesome lighting coming from the street lamp outside the shop. The tattoo shop was also great to shoot inside, due to the red walls. I took the opportunity to do a little self portrait, red walls & red shoes!
